The Food festival

30 October to 3 November, at UKZN in Pietermaritzburg.

The Paulo Freire project of the Centre for Adult Education, together with other interested UKZN students and staff (and with grateful acknowledgement of the support - moral, logistical and financial - of the Church Land Programme and PACSA), put together a FOOD FESTIVAL which ran for 5 days on the Pietermaritzburg campus.

The Food Festival explored a range of issues related to food, through movies, discussion, good food, workshops, demonstrations, and field trips. Topics covered included:

  • Is there really enough food in the world?
  • Why do some students go hungry and what should we do about it?
  • What’s wrong with GMOs?
  • What do biofuels have to do with food?
  • What’s food sovereignty?

Join us for 5 days of movies, discussion, good food, workshops, demonstrations, and field trips

The Food Festival was organised by the Paulo Freire Project of the Centre for Adult Education, UKZN. For more information, email Anne Harley
